| about us. |
Arcane Nonesuch was founded by Rebecca and Josh deVries with the intention of making eclectic, hand-crafted jewelry of the dark-nature available to the public. Our ideas have since expanded and we are proud to offer new collections and products, including postcards and shirts. Please do visit often and explore our new realms. |
| about the jewelry. |
The jewelry of Arcane Nonesuch is crafted by hand in our Salem, Massachusetts home. Each design is created in a stained-glass technique, utilizing glass, metal and imagery. The images are developed by the artisans of Arcane Nonesuch, however we also work with other very talented artists. Because each design is made by hand, every piece is entirely unique. But really, who wants to be a clone? Each item should be revered to prolong its longevity. Please, never wear your trinkets in water and be cautious when spraying perfume or hairspray at close range. Remove your jewelry when sleeping and showering. Should your bauble become dirty, we recommend cleaning with mild soap and water on a paper towel – never submerge. Please remember - these are handmade - do not tug on them or the chain bearing them - although sturdy, they are delicate. |

In combining my passion for collage and photography with jewelry, Arcane Nonesuch was created. Inspired by the season of Halloween and all things antiquated, my designs grew in a variety of directions all culminating with what I personally enjoy most.
The Arcane Nonesuch studio is located in our 1808 home in historic Salem, Masstts. After celebrating Halloween in Salem since I was of driving age, I finally made the witch city home in 2003, when Arcane Nonesuch was formally launched. I truly enjoy the rich history that is here and the warm community. I know this mysterious town steeped in controversy will keep me inspired for years to come.
Thank you to all our fans - you keep us motivated to work, when we'd rather slumber. Blessings to you all. -Rebecca deVries |

With the successful response of the pendants Rebecca and I were creating, we decided to partner together on this project and create more eclectic jewelry. I’ve been studying art since I was in grade school, and greatly enjoy the opportunity to utilize some of my skills with this collection. There is nothing more rewarding than having others interested in what you have designed. I’ve found that working with glass has been a challenging medium, but I enjoy conquering the problems that can arise. I like to incorporate my own artwork in the designs, as my favorite medium continues to be pen and ink. Most of my inspiration comes from my enjoyment of gothic imagery and great music, but I love adding my dry humor into the work. In addition to creating jewelry, I also design the website. I really enjoy the graphics aspect of what I do, and hope you enjoy it as well. - Josh deVries |
